Pairs victory at South Molton
Tiverton West End Bowling Club
Following on from his win on Monday night in the West End triple team of Barry Kerslake, Tony Sykes and Bob French, Tony lead to victory again in the County un-badged pairs.
In the 1st round Tony and his pairs partner Chris Hammett beat fellow West End Players, this brought them a 2nd round match at South Molton against Derek Pincombe and Peter Cooper Jn.
The first 7 ends were even with the score at 4 shots each, but on the 8th end Tony and Chris scored a 6, followed by 2 shots on the 9th end.
The next 10 ends were scored even bringing the score to 19 - 11 with 2 ends to play.
South Molton needed to win end 20 to stay in touch, the tension grow as Tony managed to get 3 bowls close to the jack and Chris placed another to count 4.
Peter fired 2 bowls off but the West End pair held on to 2 shots and win the game by the score of 21 to 11.
